Milton saw God's justice (against the bad angels) like Dante saw the souls in hell - The important thing is that it feels like forever . But it also misses divine mercy and places human willfulness on the same par as the divine. The better message is that Hell exists but we dont have to believe anyone is there for eternity! Many tecahers throughout the tradition beelived that even the Devil would be saved eventually
